News at The Ballroom Project The Ballroom Project bids farewell... Wayne Brockman has departed for exciting new opportunities and to cause random havoc in Florida. Albert Schweitzer said, "At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us." Wayne Brockman was a "spark" for many of us, and we wish him a fond farewell, good luck and much success in his new endeavors. Boxing Day Party & Coat/Blanket Drive We're proud to announce that over three giant drums of coats and blankets were collected for MUST Ministries during the holiday season. Thank you to all who donated and made the holiday season a bit warmer! Birthday fun at the Pre-Halloween Party! Not only did sassy zebra Susan West win our Pre-Halloween Party Costume Contest, but she celebrated her birthday with us! Susan got a special birthday mixer, with the floor all to herself (and a few of the handsome gentlemen that frequent our parties!) But in the barbecue world, Don is known as a champion chef and pit master. Don treated us to some of his fabulous barbecue at The Ballroom Project's Summer Picnic Party. June's Ice Cream Social enjoyed a short set of live music accompanying our usual popular choices of dance music. The live music was performed by our dance friend Al Bryant's band Cypress. Paso Group performs for Atlanta Metro DanceSport The Ballroom Project's own Wayne Brockman taught a fabulously fun Paso Doble class to the crowd at Atlanta Metro DanceSport's May party. Wayne's Paso Group, featuring Don and Bonnie Barron, Rhonda Anderson, and Jason and Kay Hill, performed later in the evening and got great reviews! The Ballroom Project would like to thank everyone who joined us for our first Fourth Saturday Dance Party. Over 120 dancers were in attendance dancing the night away and enjoying performances from The Ballroom Project Dance Troupe featuring Joe McClure waltzing with Miss Judy, Cathy Sheehan dancing a fabulous foxtrot with Wayne, and the Quickstep Performance Group. Quickstep Performance Group performs at Greater Atlanta USA Dance party Our Quickstep Performance Group did a fabulous job performing at the Greater Atlanta USA Dance party on September 13. No longer "hopless," the performance was well received and fun was had by both performers and the audience. The Ballroom Project instructors chosen to adjudicate at the Atlanta Dancesport Challenge Both Wayne Brockman and Judy Zwick were chosen to adjudicate at the 2008 Atlanta Dancesport Challenge. Competition organizer and Atlanta Metro DanceSport president, Kay Hill said, "We're very lucky to have professionals of such a high caliber to judge at our competition. Ms. Zwick and Mr. Brockman were well received by our competitors, and it was a pleasure to have them join us."
