FAQ's How do I get Started? Go to: Introductory Offer to check out a basic start dancing package. Contact: judy@theballroomproject.com Private lessons are 55 minutes in length for a cost of $60 per person or per couple. Group lessons are 55 minutes in length for $10 per person. What is the dress code? For Dance Outings: Dressy Casual to Cocktail attire. For men, a collared shirt and slacks to a suit and tie is appropriate. For woman, slacks and a blouse to a cocktail dress (keep in mind freedom of movement). No Jeans, T-shirts, or shorts. For Lessons: Come in comfortable attire. If your coming from work, bring a change of clothing to something that does not constrict leg and arm movements. What shoes do I wear? For beginners: a loafer or dress shoe with a thin leather sole for men, and a pump with a heel you would typically wear on your night out is a good start. Dance shoes should be flexible and grip the foot. Therefore, sandals, sling backs, platforms, and thick stiff soles with too much lip extending beyond the edge of the upper shoe are not recommended. Shoes with rubber soles do not allow for turns and could cause knee stress. To purchase dance shoes go to my friends Jim and Joyce at www.danceshoesofatlanta.com Tell them Judy Zwick sent you. Do I need a partner? No, if the ratio of leaders to followers is not equal, we rotate partners and bring in more advanced dancers (they enjoy the practice time and sharing what they have learned with others) to keep you dancing as much as possible. *If you come as a couple and do not wish to change partners, no problem! Please speak with the instructor prior to class and we will keep you close to your sweetie. Do you have Gift Certificates? Dance Lessons make a great gift for anniversaries, weddings, Valentines day, a surprise for date night, and much more! Dance is a thoroughly enjoyable hobby that enhances any relationship for a lifetime. You need lessons! We will personalize a gift certificate for your special occasion and gear it toward your unique goal. Most people gift the Introductory offer! (Please check the link in the left margin) What is the typical age range of dance students? Students typically range from college students in their twenties to retirees in their 60's. But, students from elementary school age and the health conscious in their 70's to 90's also enjoy. There are no limitations! This is an activity that suites all ages, and crosses cultural and age barriers. It is not unusual to see an 8 year old dancing with an adult, or a family taking a group lesson together, and all having a great time.
